Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we hold a UAV Operators Certificate and have full public liability insurance.
Do you travel?
Yes! Although our headquarters are in the city of Brisbane, we frequently travel interstate.
Where can you fly?
Remotely piloted aircraft are subject to restrictions in altitude and proximity to persons or property. We can fly up to 400 feet above ground level, at a minimum distance of 5.5km from aerodromes or helipads, no less than 30m from people or property not involved in the operation. However, these restrictions can be circumvented with permission from CASA and Airservices Australia.
What are the advantages of using remotely piloted aircraft?
Drones have replaced helicopters and aeroplanes in many aerial photography roles due to their flexibility. We employ both unmanned and piloted aircraft depending on the operational requirements. Some of the benefits of using remotely piloted aircraft include:
- Lower cost
- Fast setup time
- Lower risk to personnel
- Minimal disruption to site
- Ability to fly where full-size aircraft can't
